Why did my file get bigger after converting to PNG?
PNG is lossless and poorly suited to photographs — it is designed for graphics with flat areas of colour. A photo in PNG almost always weighs more than the same photo in JPG or WebP.
What happens to transparency when converting to JPG?
JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white. If you need transparency, choose PNG or WebP.
Are files uploaded to a server?
No. All conversion happens in your browser and nothing leaves your device.
