Microphone & Camera Test
Press a button and allow access. The bar shows your input level; the panel shows your camera.
How to use
Press Test microphone and say something: the bar should move with your voice. If it stays flat, sound is not reaching the browser — usually the system has the wrong microphone selected, such as the built-in one instead of your headset. For video, press the second button and the camera feed appears.
Do this before the call rather than during its first minutes. Browsers grant device access per site, so a working microphone here does not prove it is allowed in Zoom or Teams — but it does prove the hardware works and the system can see it.
FAQ
Is anything recorded or uploaded?
No. The microphone and camera streams are handled inside your browser and never stored. Access ends the moment you press Stop or close the tab.
The browser never asks for permission and nothing happens
Access was probably denied earlier. Click the lock or camera icon in your browser's address bar, allow access, and reload the page.
The bar does not move even though the mic is allowed
Check your operating system's sound settings to see which device is the default microphone, and make sure the headset is not muted. The browser uses whatever device the system hands it.
Why is a secure connection required?
Browsers only grant camera and microphone access to pages served over https. It is a safeguard: a plain http site cannot request your devices at all.
