Why do some 'free' QR code generators later charge money?
Many popular QR tools generate "dynamic" codes that redirect through their own server rather than encoding your data directly. Once your code is printed on business cards or packaging, they can start limiting scans or charging a subscription — you can't easily change the printed code at that point. This tool generates static codes with your data baked in directly, so there's nothing to meter after the fact.
What does the error correction level mean?
It controls how much of the QR code can be damaged, dirty or obscured (e.g. by a logo) and still scan correctly: L (~7%), M (~15%), Q (~25%), H (~30%). Higher levels make the pattern denser, so use L or M for clean digital use and Q or H for print or outdoor placement.
Will this QR code expire?
No. Since the data is encoded directly in the pattern rather than pointing to a URL you control on our servers, the code works forever — there's no subscription to lapse and no server that can go offline.
Is my data sent to a server when I generate a code?
