Date to Roman Numerals
Pick a date and get it in Roman numerals — day, month and year converted separately. Choose the separator you like for a clean, tattoo-ready look.
How to use
Select a date; the day, month and year each convert to Roman numerals and are joined with your chosen separator (a dot, slash, dash or space).
Copy the result for a tattoo, invitation or anniversary design. Years up to 3999 are supported (Roman numerals don't go higher).
FAQ
How is a date written in Roman numerals?
Each part is converted on its own: 12 May 1990 → XII · V · MCMXC. There's no single 'date' numeral, so day, month and year are shown separately.
Which order — day or month first?
This tool shows day · month · year. If you prefer month · day · year, just read the first two parts in the other order — the numerals are the same.
Why is there a limit of 3999?
Standard Roman numerals only go up to 3999 (MMMCMXCIX); there's no standard symbol for 5000+, so years beyond that can't be written normally.
Is it good for tattoos?
Yes — that's the most popular use. Copy the result and pick a separator that matches your design.
